Last week was as action-packed as ever. Midweek we had a presentation from non-bank lender Mortgage Mart. These lenders are increasingly important for property investors now that the banks are making it harder to get an investment loan. I always say to my young pups that they need to stay abreast of changes in the banking world, so it was great seeing so many at the briefing (many of whom Skyped in from interstate – one even overseas).

Team Origin avoided a major roadblock for Chris on Friday when a loan risked missing a deadline. Thankfully Graeme was able to get hold of our friends at CBA who rushed through an approval. Result – happy client and relieved broker.

I always say to new pups who are thinking about joining Origin Finance, that one of the great things about this group is the team of experienced brokers who can give them support. Doug, Rick and Graeme are wiley old dogs who can often get things fixed.

Graeme and Lucy have meetings set up with four brokers who are looking to join Origin Finance in Melbourne. Given that everyone down there likes to wear black, I have arranged for Doug to get me a new coat for when I visit the Victorian pups. What do you think?

Finally, a round-of-a-paws for one of my young pups, Carlo Monzo. He is really starting to get the hang of mortgage broking and brought in a couple of good loans this week.
